I loved how it has the news stream column and user profile the same as other social networking sites out there. However, Google+ has several unique features which beat the rest.

Circles

First is the super friendly “Circles”. Instead of lists of friends, circles allows you to group friends easily. The drag and drop style is fun to watch and using it is a breeze. If ever you want to share something and want it to reach a group of people, you can use circles. You can add the same friend to different circles. There’s even a circle for blocked friends. For easy portability, you can add friends from the gmail account you signed up, your yahoo and hotmail. Unfortunately, you can only use one gmail account to pull contacts from. Google hasn’t added an option to pull contacts from other Gmail accounts.

Sparks

Next is “Sparks”. If you have a specific interest, just type it in sparks and stick it to your home menu for easy access. When you use sparks, you are automatically connected to the thousands of users browsing and posting in sparks. Example, if you like to go to the Gym, just input gym and content from users that posted “Gym” will be made available. Can’t find the interest you are in? Be the first to post it in Sparks!

Hangouts

Hangouts is another Google+ first. Feeling lonely but don’t want to intrude? You can create a hangout and wait for others to join in! The best part is, it’s multi video conferencing!

Privacy Control

Privacy is also topnotch with Google+. Making your account private is highly interactive.  Just click something in your profile and Google asks you what you want. You can dictate the Circle that can be visible on your profile, the sparks, and even news stream.

The only thing missing from Google+ right now are applications and games. If Google+ will be able to host the games that are already popular in other social Networking sites, an exodus would be imminent.

Population wise, Google+ is considerably small. There’s no sign up page yet and in order to be able to join, you have to have a friend invite you. Once you’re a member, you can invite others using Circles or manually send invites to friends who aren’t in your email contacts.

Despite the positive things I see about Google+, I do have something else to comment though. Maybe Google should have used another name to imprint their brand. GP  sounds like the currency of Final Fantasy games.

The Facebook game Backyard Monster might not be the most popular game in the website however, it takes it’s fair share of players as the game is constantly evolving! I was on a 4 month hiatus due to work schedules and during my free time I took a look at how my monsters were faring. At first, I found my whole base decimated. It felt like a Backyard Monster hacker took advantage of my absence and lay waste what I called my Alcatraz defense. Seriously, even a horde of D.A.V.E. monsters (strongest normal monster in the game), would have a hard time getting through the first line of defense. I was ready to holler Backyard Monster cheats in the discussion boards.

When I sat down and played the game again, I found the real reason. The game had evolved in the relatively short time I was away! Here’s a quick summary.

There are new normal monsters available! A moth like monster has been added and is capable of evading most tower attacks and walls! That wormlike creature can burrow and pass through walls to wreak havoc behind enemy lines. The best normal monster added however is the eerie like blue eyed monster that can heal your monster during combat raids! Another update by Backyard Monster is the addition of the champion.

Just a little bit of a teaser. This is one of the three Champions that can attack any monster that goes near your base. This one is in its infancy though. The three are divided into a tank (strong defense), striker (strong attack) and buffer (increase stats). You can choose whatever you like. That little blue guy above is the tank.

There are also a whole lot of new buildings. This is just one of them. It’s the monster laboratory. It’s kind of like the monster academy except that the upgrades are cooler. The level cap of the defensive towers also was increased, there’s an aerial tower to target flying monsters and finally, the best upgrade of them all.Blocks upgrade! You can now upgrade ALL of your blocks in one click using shiny! As soon as I load up, I’m upgrading to the Backyard Monster Black diamond WALLS! Now you see that there’s no point in cheating Backyard Monsters. With a little bit of planning and judicious use of resources, you can overtake those who buy shiny. Then again, you might ask yourself, what if I get attacked a lot? That’s the point of the game, in Backyard Monsters, you can have allies, make truce and more!

The only downside so far is that Philippine players can’t harvest mushrooms which have shiny it it. Rumors were flying around that Dave, found that Philippine players tend to harvest shiny a lot and never buy shiny.

So a quickie update. I faced off 2 corporations. Both of which wanted to pirate me for their company and when things got ugly turned their backs on me. Yep, never trust corporate bastards and bitches who only want you because they can earn something off ya. They managed to squeeze everything out of me and when they decided they had learned enough to do it on their own, dumped me. Oh well. It’s a dog eat dog world out there anyway.

Fast forward to now, I’d like to thank my new internet service provider for giving me the best possible internet service in my hermit cave of a home out in the boondocks in the Philippines. And by that I had no choice in getting a BETTER internet service and seriously, beggars can’t be choosy. So I have a Globe Wimax 1 Mbps subscription. Globe graciously provided me a Huwaei BM 622i modem and antenna.

I had the internet connection up and running since June 26, 2011 and so far I only gave me a couple of hours worth of headaches. Will be posting a complete review of it soon.

As for me and this blog. Let’s say I have big plans for this!
